Fujifilm was supposed to release the newest update (ver 4.00) for the X-T2 on the 8th of May, but by the 17th of May had obviously received enough complaints they decided to pull it. Fujifilm also released a statement that day, which can be seen here and the original issues can be seen below:
- When RAW files, which were taken by X-T2 (before firmware ver.4.00), are converted in camera (ver.4.00) or by “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO”, they are not converted properly.
- When pressing the shutter button halfway under certain conditions, the live view can flicker.
- In rare cases, a hang-up can occur.
What happens if you have installed it?
If you had the unfortunate luck in updating to ver 4.00, you can update to ver 4.01 here. You should be aware that this is the exact same as ver 3.00, but this way is easier than having to roll the firmware on the camera back.
Fujifilm is now going to delay the update until mid June at the earliest so don’t get hold your breath.
